China Forum of Environmental Journalist As a member of Asia-Pacific Forum of Environmental Journalist, China Forum of Environmental Journalist (CFEJ) is a first–rank association in China which is subordinated to State Environmental Protection Administration of China (SEPA) .CFEJ is constituted in June,1986 with the affiliation of many news medias and environmental education organizations, such as newspaper, magazine, broadcasting, television, news agency and news website. There are two committee of CFEJ, one is Committee of State and Local Environmental Newspapers and the other is Committee of State Environmental Periodicals. Both of them are consist of twenty or thirty associators. CFEJ set up a website .Now CFEJ is actively making preparation for the Periodical named China Environment Focus. Responsibility and Tasks State Environmental Protection Administration of China adjusted the leading system of CFEJ in August,2003 and verified the chief responsibility. ① Keeping and strengthening the connection of CFEJ and new medias in order to form and consolidate the national environment reporter team and realize the purpose of enhancing people's environmental consciousness; assuming tasks of propagandizing and education according to the direction of SEPA; holding get-together for environmental news reporters regularly and being a family for all of them. ② Advancing the public voice on different kinds of environment issue; contriving plans and schemes for important environment news action and pursuing to be the base of planning and organizing national environment news action. ③ Holding activities to choose excellent news , journalists and medias in the area of environment in order to improve the quality of environment news or reports and enhance the society influence. ④ Holding technical training and academic forum for reporters to offer the opportunities for improving themselves, such academic forum include many special topics , for example, theory of environment news, phenomena of environment news and environment news itself. ⑤ Setting up the database of China environment news , collecting and publishing news in time . ⑥ Strengthening the connection between media and society , organizing the enterprises to participate in environmental protection activities on the behalf of commonwealth. ⑦ Strengthening the communication and collaboration between CFEJ and the reporters or NGO from other countries , Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China. ⑧ Protecting the rights and interests of environment news reporters.
